Should the new point system be implemented, wiping everyone's progress?

I've heard many people around the pG community discuss the new point system. Whether or not this is just hot air, I'm not sure. But for all these people to be referencing it, I'm sure it's fact. If it is in fact fiction, remove this thread.

The point system we have right now works absolutely fine. If you do a full wipe of everyone's stats, it's a slap in the face for people who've played on pG servers for years and years. "It's to attract new players". Why would newbies care about points for a server they've been on for a minute amount of time? We should be promoting our servers with innovative ideas, just like you did with the TDM Format.
